Dear SummerSong and Strings Camp Students, Parents, and Families,
The SummerSong and Strings Camp Directors and staff at Westminster College have been closely monitoring the developments in regards to COVID-19 and evaluating carefully how it impacts our music camps for June, 2020. We have taken many factors into account, including the Utah Governor's "Stay Safe, Stay Home" directive, the Utah plan for health and economic recovery among other things.
In order to prioritize the health and safety of our families, participants, and staff, as well as to follow state and national guidelines regarding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel SummerSong and Strings Camp 2020.
This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make, as we look forward all year to reuniting with students from past camps and thinking about new friendships. That being said, we are sure that you’d all agree that the safety of our faculty, students, family, and friends is our top priority, and that with the amount of uncertainty still swirling about we must be vigilant in doing what is right, safe, and responsible.
While this decision is heartbreaking for the immediate future, we are also filled with hope that next summer we'll all be back to making great music together!
Stay safe, stay well, and stay positive! Sending all our good thoughts your way, today and always.
