Westminster College Breaks Ground On New Meldrum Science Center

A new state-of-the-art science center is critical for our continued success in science education. The new 60,000-square-foot, four-story Meldrum Science Center is the culminating project in Westminster's 10-year campus master plan. It will be LEED certified, underscoring Westminster's commitment to the environment.

With an enrollment of more than 2,600, a new science building is an absolute necessity to accomodate the increased demand for science classes.

The Meldrum Science Center will help the college attract and retain top-notch faculty and students. Its open and flexible labs will enable our faculty to teach in the active, hands-on way in which students best retain knowledge.

The campaign for the Meldrum Science Center is a vital part of our long-term strategy to increase Westminster's national and international reputation as an exemplary institution of higher education.

"We're not making buildings anymore to simply house learning; we're now making them tools for learning. The new science center will allow students to see, touch, and monitor sustainable resource use in action."
