Books/eBooks will provide:
  • in depth treatment of a topic
  • extensive bibliography
Use: the Giovale Library Catalog to locate items for your topic.
Note: The catalog contains books physically located in Giovale Library as well as electronic books (ebooks). Most ebooks are available through paid subscriptions we have set up with publishers!

Giovale catalog search options include:
"Subject Alphabetical" or "Keyword(s)"
from the pull down menu to search for materials on a particular topic published in book or audio-visual formats:

  • The "Subject Alphabetical" option contains standardized subject headings (i.e., terms and phrases) from the Library of Congress Subject Headings assigned to library materials during the cataloging process.
  • The "Keyword(s)" option lets you use your own word(s) called search term(s).

How to search Giovale Library Catalog using "Subject Alphabetical":
On the Basic Search page select Subject Alphabetical from the pull down box. Enter one of the above listed Subject Headings in the search box.


How to search Giovale Library Catalog using the "Keyword(s)":
On the basic Search page select Keyword(s) form the pull down menu. Enter your words called
search term(s).
