Campus NewsWestminster College Partners with USA Volleyball to Sponsor Global Challenge and Junior OlympicsTweetJuly 5, 2005 Westminster College Partners with USA Volleyball to Sponsor Global Challenge and Junior Olympics Girls National Championships in Salt Lake More than 300 volleyball players from around the world will stay at Westminster SALT LAKE CITY- For the first time ever, Westminster College will serve as the official team village for the 2005 US Youth/Junior High Performance Global Challenge, scheduled to take place in Salt Lake City July 21-29, 2005. As part of the sponsorship agreement Westminster was a Gold Level Sponsor of the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Girls National Championships which began in Salt Lake City on June 29th and will conclude tomorrow. During the upcoming Global Challenge, an international volleyball competition for girls, the Westminster College campus will host more than 300 volleyball players from around the world. The college's recently constructed residential village will serve as the team village throughout the two week long competition. Westminster President Michael Bassis remarked, We are thrilled to support these elite athletes.
