SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster College’s Environmental Center and Organic Garden present the 2nd Annual Food Film Series on the first Tuesdays of September, October and November, 2012 from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business Auditorium. Guest speakers will address the audience at each screening. The film series is free and open to the public.
October 2nd 7 – 9 p.m.
This is a documentary about a lawsuit between Dole Food Company and banana plantation workers in Nicaragua over use of a pesticide known to cause sterility. November 6th 7 – 9 p.m.
Grown in Detroit
This documentary focuses on urban farming efforts of a Detroit public school for pregnant and parenting teenagers. It explores the transformation of a struggling industrial city through urban gardening. Find more information at www.grownindetroitmovie.com.
